Basal Metabolic Rate – Scientific fat Loss
One of the most important things you need to understand about your body is What is your Basal Metabolic rate?
Why do you need to know this?
Well this determines the amount of calories your body will burn at rest effectively keeping your weight as is without any kind of expenditure of energy. BMR also changes with age so you should always do this calculation to see how many calories you need to put on muscle, lose fat or both.
As with everything this is a guide to your BMR and will give you the right information to move on to the next level of fat loss.
Once you understand about your BMR then you have the opportunity to move up or down your calorie intake (and type) to suit any time in your training phase. Don’t confuse this with Body Mass Index which is quite frankly a load of rubbish and in no way will help any strength athlete.
The next step will be how do you incorporate this in your training regime and the balance between Protein, Fat and carbs intake.
