As things have moved on in Bodybuilding, you see many different types of exercise equipment/machines being added to the Gym. Sometimes we lose our focus as there are so many exercises that you can do for all different body parts – and they all have their place. Take a look through our list here and the comments around them. These are well worth adding to your routine to hit different areas and overcome any plateau you may be up against. 1. Reverse Grip Pull ups/chins
This is such a great exercise when you combine training your back with biceps. The pulling motion works both the back and biceps hard meaning your biceps are already pumped and fatigued when you come to concentrate on them. This is also a great exercise for super-setting with single arm dumbbell rows
2. One Arm Dumbbell Rows
One of my favourite exercises – why? Well firstly it’s not difficult to do and you can get great results if you use the right technique. People tend to use too much weight here and end up throwing the weight about without employing the right stretch at the bottom of the movement and that important contraction of the Lat muscles at the top. For effective movement try pulling the dumbbell towards your stomach area rather than you chest.
3. Dumbbell Cross Bench Pullover
This is a great exercise which hits the top half of the body hard. This is an exercise that is taught to stretch the Rib cage especially when you first start training with weights. Simply lie across a bench with your shoulders and top of your back supported, the movement is in an arc effectively lowering the weight towards the floor over the back of your head and a reverse of that motion. Do these and they work all your top half. An excellent exercise to add into your chest workout.
